Position Overview We are seeking a Senior Accountant to join our US client's accounting team on a 6-month contract through the year-end close and audit season. Reporting to the Accounting Lead, this role covers accruals, month-end and year-end close, audit preparation, and financial statement preparation. We are looking for someone with a sharp eye for detail who can navigate complex Excel workbooks, trace numbers back to their sources, and solve problems independently before escalating.   Role Details • Contract: 6 months, starting ASAP, with the possibility of extension based on performance • Location: Remote, Philippines-based • Schedule: 9:00 PM - 6:00 AM Philippine Standard Time   Reference: 2640-067600 Responsibilities Own the monthly accruals process, reviewing POs and contracts in Coupa to determine what to accrue. Support month-end and year-end close, ensuring the books are accurate, complete, and closed on time. Prepare interim and year-end audit support, pulling documentation and building workbooks that back up the financial statements. Assist in preparing financial statements, ensuring every figure ties out and resolving discrepancies such as rounding differences. Prepare the annual stock option roll forward, using Carta reports to calculate weighted average stock prices and other figures for the financial statements. Use prior-year work papers to investigate how balances were built and replicate them for the current year. Support revenue-related work where needed. Requirements (Must-haves) Senior Accounting Experience: 4+ years of progressive accounting experience, including work at a senior level or in external audit. Solid core accounting knowledge and a track record of handling complex projects, such as multi-step calculations in large workbooks that feed the financial statements, with minimal supervision. US GAAP: Working knowledge of US GAAP and experience supporting US-based companies. Close & Accruals: Hands-on experience owning accruals and supporting month-end and year-end close, including reviewing POs and contracts. Audit & Financial Statements: Proven experience preparing audit support and financial statements, with meticulous attention to detail to ensure every number ties out. Excel Proficiency: Intermediate Excel skills, including pivot tables and VLOOKUP/XLOOKUP, plus the ability to follow complex formulas and workbooks built by others. Problem-Solving Skills: Demonstrated ability to investigate discrepancies, rebuild numbers from prior-year work papers, and find answers independently. Education: Bachelor's degree in Accountancy or a related field. Availability: Able to work US business hours for the full duration of the contract. Nice-to-haves Experience with Coupa or a similar procure-to-pay platform. CPA (Philippines or US). Working knowledge of NetSuite as an ERP system. Experience with equity accounting, stock option roll forwards, or Carta. Experience working for a hosting, SaaS, or subscription-based company, including exposure to revenue accounting. More Information This is a fully remote position with a standard 40-hour fixed-schedule work week. Ability to work a strict US Central Time shift (PH 9:00 PM – 6:00 AM, Monday to Friday) with no flexibility on hours.
